So we own a construction company and my daughter brought up a way to “spice things up” as she called it. She said why don’t we start an app so people can track the progress of their projects. That way instead of people calling about when things are going to be done they can check the app. They can book appointments for consultations and all that one there as well. Although I like her thinking, is it really worth the money? Why not just use my website for that instead? What do you guys think?
Apps are great depending on what they are used for. If you have a well functioning website and can send people email updates on the status of your job then that would work just as well. If you have a service where you may be needing to add extra material, have them sign off on items or even take photos of progress to send them that that may be a fun perk but is it needed, no. If you have the money to spare to make an app then I say go for it but make sure to have a completely thought out plan for why you needed it and how it will be used. If you don’t have the funds then I would stay just stick with what you have.
