When running a company I ask myself a lot what makes a good boss/CEO/Leader. I was always told a boss will tell someone what to do while a leader will be right there in the thick of things showing employees and doing it themselves. So I was curious, to you what makes a good CEO? What do you think should be done for you want to work for someone?00

I always say leading by example is what makes a great leader. How do I expect my team to do things for me that I can’t do for myself. I have always been a show by example type of person and it has worked for me so far. Also an open line of communication, if you can’t talk to your employees and vice versa then nothing will ever get done. Those two factors are huge when it comes for me thinking of a great leader00Kevin GarnetParticipant
For me it is someone who will get in and get their hands dirty with their people. To lead means to take charge but if you are only giving instructions but not leading by example then we might as well just read the instructions ourselves. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. Also make sure to listen to you employees, no one hates anything more then not being listened to.00
I agree with you, I was always taught that a great leader was one that would get in there with his people. I think its hard to lead when you don’t know the ins and outs of what you’re doing.00
