We were founded in early 2004.

Will Timesheets.com help me train my employees?

Timesheets.com can help with training at no additional cost. We offer training videos and tech support.

Accounts & Billing

Can I add and remove features to and from my account at any time?

Yes, you can. Visit the Setup Wizard and select or deselect the options you wish to change.

Do I get to keep my demo account or must I set up a new account once I activate?

Your demo account becomes your actual working account. There is no need to transfer or re-enter employee data.

Are there setup fees, cancellation fees, or any other hidden fees?

No. There are no fees of any kind besides the posted subscription rates.

Do I have to pay more if I want to use all the features?

Project time, hourly time, expenses, and HR docs are all included in the price. The price remains the same whether you use all or only some of the features.

Will I get locked into a contract?

There is no contract other than our terms of use agreement and you may cancel service at any time. If you paid annually rather than monthly, the service is yours until the end of the pre-paid term.

I want to pay now. Do I need to sign up for a demo account?

All accounts start out as demo accounts. Start your subscription by signing up for the free trial.

How does Timesheets.com bill?

We bill automatically on the first of each month or on a customer's annual anniversary sign-up date.

Do I have to pay for users that don't log in or don't record their own time?

Anyone logging in to Timesheets.com or recording data is considered a user and needs an account. We do provide one free administrator to all customers.

Can I pay by check or money order?

Timesheets.com accepts checks for annual payments only. Please send a payment for the appropriate number of employee licenses to Timesheets.com at the following address:

If I only need the service seasonally, what happens to my account during the off months?

You only have to pay for the months you use. So if you run a swimming camp in the summer, you will only pay for the service while your employees are actually employed. You can put your account on hold when they go back to college. Once the summer returns, all your data will be just as you left it and ready for you to start tracking time again.

Can I get a discount if I refer a business to Timesheets.com?

Yes! Timesheets.com rewards customer referrals. Get a free user for every paying customer you refer.

What types of confidential information does Timesheets.com keep?

Our strategy is to minimize any confidential information that must be kept about your company or employees. We do not need to know anything beyond the basic operational questions asked during enrolment. Your credit card information is never stored on our servers and is sent directly to our merchant banker via secure interface at the time of payment. The only mandatory information for an employee account is their name and job title. All other information is optional.


When I deactivate employees, will I still have access to their old data?

Yes, you will. Any employee can be deactivated or reactivated at any time and the system saves all the old data associated with the employee.

Can your software be made to look like my website?

Yes. There is a small fee associated with branding.

Can I put a Timesheets.com login on my home page?

We offer a free script you can copy and email to your web developer. You'll find these scripts on the My Account page of your account.

What kinds of reports can I run using this system?

All our reports are highly customizable and can be exported in several formats. You can separate out specific employees, projects, dates, etc. Our reports are also print-ready, meaning you can click 'print' at any time and print out a nicely formatted report.

Does Timesheets.com work across multiple offices and time zones?

Yes. You can set up different time zones for individual employees according to your needs.

Can a supervisor clock in the whole team or do employees have to do it themselves?

Supervisors can clock their employees in or out as needed from the dashboard. This feature can be useful for teams that work out in the field.

What happens when an employee forgets to clock in or out?

Timesheets.com allows employees to request changes to their clock-in or out times. Administrators or supervisors can then approve, deny, or modify times based on those requests.

Can I track different pay rates with Timesheets.com?

Yes. Employees can be assigned different pay rates for the different jobs they do.

Does your website calculate overtime correctly?

Timesheets.com calculates “weekly” overtime based on the Federal rules - this is what most states follow – and we also correctly calculate the more complicated California “daily” overtime. It is important to choose a company with experience programming these difficult calculations. There are many factors to consider when running payroll like, for example, whether the employee worked through a pay period or worked 7 days in a row.

Can I track different billing rates with Timesheets.com?

Projects can be assigned different default rates and all employees that work on the project can also have their own custom rates.

Can I load a large number of employees and/or projects into my account?

Yes, you can. Please contact us for assistance.

Do expenses link up with the projects or customers they're associated with?

All of these items can be linked for reporting purposes.

Can project time be tracked in increments?

Project time can be tracked in exact minutes or set to round by 10, 15, 20, and 30 minutes.

Can I restrict employees from clocking in outside of the office?

Timesheets.com can be locked down to one or more static IP address to prevent people from clocking in from home or other unauthorized locations. We record the IP address of every clock punch.

How does your program ensure employees don't clock in for other employees?

We offer an upgrade that records a photo with every clock punch to help ensure identity.

Can users punch in from a cell phone or other mobile device?

Yes, but for security purposes, this function can also be disabled by the administrator.


Can I export to QuickBooks®?

Yes! We offer a very simple and thorough QuickBooks integration for payroll, projects, and expenses free of charge. We would love to help you set it up. Please let us show you how.

Does your product work with Salesforce.com?

You can install the product via the AppExchange and use our service from a tab within your Salesforce account.

Will Timesheets.com work with my current payroll system?

Timesheets.com works with nearly any payroll system. Please contact us if you need assistance or do not see your payroll service in our export file types.

Does Timesheets.com offer payroll?

Timesheets.com works with outsourced payroll companies. This service is separate from our tracking services.
