Paid breaks are enabled in the Company Setting on the Hourly tab. Paid breaks can be set to different time values, the most common in the United States being 10 minutes, as they are required in several states like California. When paid breaks are enabled, a break button will display below the clock out button when a user is clocked in.
When a user takes their break, they click the button. The break time is logged on the timesheet and the employee is notified what time their break ends. (e.g. “You are now on your 10 minute break. Your shift will resume automatically at 02:46 PM”)
The user does not need to clock back in from break.
Paid breaks are displayed on the timesheet in the Break column and appear on the Customizable Timesheet Report which shows raw, unprocessed timesheet data. Paid breaks are otherwise indistinguishable from normal work time and do not appear on payroll reports.
